Female Writers Impacting Society through Literature

Authors have always been an integral part of the society. They have always strived hard to make a positive impact in the society. This positivity gets more integral when the author is a woman. They teach us those necessary virtue of life through their writings which we choose to ignore or blatantly pass away. Considering these aspects, The Literary Mirror shares about few such female authors who are creating an impact in the society through their writings.

Indrani Chowdhury

Indrani Chowdhury aligned her passion with the profession when she chose writing as her career path in 2019. Her book of poems ‘Raining Drops of Rainbow Verses’ got published in 2021, which earned her numerous accolades both from readers and critics. She had been felicitated by renowned publishing houses for her literary pursuits. She is a regular contributor at different literary platforms and has co-authored almost twenty-five anthologies in a short span of three years.

Dr. Harjeet Sra

An alumnus of Panjab University, Chandigarh Dr. Harjeet Sra is an academician, a counselor, a motivational speaker, and an author. She is presently working as a professor cum head in an educational institution in Punjab. Apart from her academic pursuits in the field of education, she has penned many poems and short stories for various anthologies. Her debut novel, Soulmates…love is forever was released in July 2021.

Prasupta Roy

Prasupta Roy is an English teacher working in a reputed school in Chennai. She has done her Masters in English with a B.Ed. to her credit. Many of her poems, articles and, short stories have been published in Woman’s Era, The Statesman, The Minds Journal, and some online literary space.  Writing is her passion and she feels that writing heals her heart and keeps her alive. She has won award for short story competition at the Litagram Short Story Contest and for poems at the ONGC Poetry Competition.

Jyoti Jha

An HR-turned-Author, Jyoti Jha quit her corporate job and went globe-trotting, after which she pursued her compelling passion and embarked upon the journey of expressing through words. An esteemed winner of ‘The Times of India Write India Season 3’, she has authored the books, ‘The Realms of Human Emotions’, ‘Around The World Through My Lens’, and ‘Aanandi’. Awarded ‘Savitribai Phule Rashtriya Samman’, having been featured as ‘Iconic Authors 2022‘, and conferred ‘Global Progressive Women Award 2022’, she has won the titles, ‘Author of the year‘ and ‘Best Reviewer of the year 2020 and 2021’. A Storyteller, Columnist, and Lyricist, she has been a proud Panelist and Guest Speaker in Talk Shows at prestigious institutions like IITs and IIM Lucknow. Having been interviewed and featured in one of the Top Literary Journals of the country, Jyoti has been an honorable Jury Member at the Literary Club, IIT BHU for Storytelling, and an honorable Judge at Kashiyatra, IIT BHU, Varanasi for Hindi Poetry.

Shefali Arora

Shefali is a wordsmith. Her love for writing prose and poetry is evident from her books, “The Infinite Road” and “A Paradise of Thoughts” which won hearts along with accolades and awards. An engineer by profession, she is currently pursuing PhD in Computer Science. Based in Punjab, she juggles between being a lecturer, traveler, musician, and, blogger with panache.
