Rrama Sharma is an Indian actress who works in the Hindi Film Industry. She is a graduate from the “National School of Drama (Sikkim)”. Rrama has been very active in Delhi Theatre Circuit for the past 8 years, where she worked with many renowned Theatre Directors of India before shifting to Mumbai in 2021. She is currently seen in MTV’s popular show “Nishedh Season 2”.
Rrama hails from a very small town “Dadri” in Uttar Pradesh. Coming from an army background, she has travelled to most of the states in India where her father got posted. She is a graduate from Delhi University in the discipline of Hindi Literature.
She believes training is the most important aspect of an actor’s journey, and that’s why she wanted to pursue it from a reputed school or institution in India. After continuously applying for many years, she finally got selected for Madhya Pradesh School of Drama (MPSD) and the National School of Drama (Sikkim) However, she opted for NSD Sikkim because of her love for new culture and nature.
Talking about Nishedh she says, “MTV Nishedh focuses on fostering healthier attitudes and behaviors and removing the stigma surrounding several health-related issues, including sexual reproductive health and wellbeing, contraceptive care, abortion, and tuberculosis (TB).”
She adds, “Set in the fictional and conservative town of Premnagar, with youth being the primary target audience. The series follows a disruptive filmmaker, a married couple with an unexpected pregnancy, and an influencer on the run as they navigate their way through a maze of difficult life choices.”
Describing her character in the show she says, Sushmita is a pragmatic housewife who, despite a secondary-level education, can adapt to any situation. Since she was an infant, she has always been told what to do, where to go, how to behave, and how to become a dutiful wife. Like most married women, Sushmita also has dreams and desires which she tries to fulfill as the story proceeds in the show.
Rrama Sharma’s upcoming projects include “Garmi” which is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia; “Jhansi Ka Rajkumar” which is directed by Axone fame director Nicholas Kharkongor and “Lalla”(tentative title) which is directed by Samir Tewari.
