Literature has always transcended boundaries and language to serve humanity and fulfill the intellectual quotient of civilization. At a time when most of us are either cribbing on the decreasing readership or the continuous fight between which language is garnering more love from the readers; the prestigious Ahmedabad International Literature Festival took a noble cause to host an event where there were discussions on two masterpieces of Hindi Literature.
Ahmedabad International Literature Festival is one of the most premium literature festivals in the country dedicated to the service of literature. AILF (Ahmedabad International Literature Festival) seeks to promote the passion for all facets of literature, particularly among children & young adults, with a focus on open discourse, the art of storytelling, engaging panel discussions on relevant topics, and celebrating the written as well as spoken word. AILF invites reputed writers and speakers to Ahmedabad from India and all across the globe. AILF also aims to promote literary tourism by introducing the participants to the rich language and culture of Gujarat. AILF has reached great heights under the able guidance and leadership of Umashanker Yadav; Festival Director who is also the Founder Director of AILF.
The Book Discussion held on 30th April 2022 was on the two exciting masterpieces; Aanandi by Jyoti Jha and Soch Sanjivani by Vaibhav Pande respectively. Aanandi by Jyoti Jha is a novella that depicts the story of the struggle of a girl in the era when dreaming was synonymous with audacity for a girl. Set in the backdrop of a village in the 1970s, Aanandi still resonates with the problems faced by girls in modern times and guides them to navigate through these hardships using their grit, determination, and hard work.
Soch Sanjivani, a collection of motivational poems primarily by Vaibhav Pande takes us deep into an ocean of the various emotions which occur in our path as mere mortals. The poetry collection not just motivates us through its poems but also is a treatise on various aspects of life.
The Book Discussion started with a warm welcoming note by Mr. Umashanker Yadav himself and the audience was greeted with a glimpse of the various literary activities of AILF in its previous editions. The event was moderated by Nitish Raj; Co-Founder, Literia Insight. The book discussion witnessed very high participation from the lovers of literature and being a digital event, it was being live-streamed on various social media platforms.
