The Literary Chapter of Let’s Inspire Bihar organized the launch of ‘Sawaalon ke Ghere Mein Dr. Amrendra: Saakshaatkaar Samagra’, edited by Dr. Brahmadev Kumar, followed by a literary discussion in Bhagalpur on Tuesday. The book focuses on the personality, literary thought and creative contributions of veteran Angika and Hindi litterateur Dr. Amarendra.
Speaking as the chief guest, senior litterateur Ranjan observed that “criticism cannot be credible without balance.” He emphasized that the book should not be viewed as a conventional biography of Dr. Amarendra, but as a critical engagement with an extensive collection of interviews that offers readers an opportunity to understand the writer’s literary worldview.
Renowned author and columnist Jyoti Jha, Chief Coordinator of the Literary Chapter, said that the programme was an inspiring initiative from the Anga region towards positive transformation through literature. Organized under the inspiration of senior IPS officer Vikas Vaibhav, the literary initiative reflects the broader vision of Let’s Inspire Bihar to create constructive social change through literature, education and cultural engagement. She also congratulated Dr. Amarendra on the publication.
Speaking about the book, Dr. Amarendra described the collection as his “life story” and reflected on the relationship between literary experience and its deeper creative essence. He also announced that Jyoti Jha’s novel Aanandi would soon be translated into Angika, opening another literary bridge between Hindi and the regional language.
In her presidential address, retired teacher Indubala said that Dr. Amarendra had successfully transformed his personality into his creative work, making his life and literature inseparable from his identity as a writer. Senior journalist Deepak Kochgave remarked that even in the age of the internet, Dr. Amarendra’s literary contribution demonstrates that the doors of literature remain open and relevant.
Dr. Shobha Kumari, lecturer in the Postgraduate Department of Angika, spoke at length about Dr. Amarendra’s literary talent and said that his writings would continue to inspire generations of young readers and writers.
Indira Jha, a Bhagalpur native residing in England, praised the dedication of local litterateurs towards the preservation and promotion of Angika. On behalf of the UK chapter of Let’s Inspire Bihar, she extended her congratulations to Dr. Amarendra and the Angika literary community.
Lyricist Rajkumar, who conducted the programme, introduced the book and highlighted Dr. Amarendra’s versatility as a writer who has worked across multiple literary genres. He remarked that although Dr. Amarendra may remain in the background personally, he occupies a prominent place in the literary landscape.
During the discussion, Dr. Abha Purve described the book as an “open door” to understanding Dr. Amarendra’s personality and ideas. Dr. Premchand Pandey said that the collection would enable readers to gain deeper insight into the writer’s personality and literary contributions.
Playwright Satyanarayan Mandal observed that the book is more than a compilation of a litterateur’s answers; it is also a document reflecting the literary consciousness of an era. Litterateur and filmmaker Sheetanshu Arun noted that the volume not only examines Dr. Amarendra’s literary achievements but also contains suggestions concerning their preservation and continuation for future generations.
Rashmi Thakur, Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, praised the region’s distinctive Manjusha art and expressed her intention to undertake initiatives with her team for the promotion and development of the region’s language and artistic traditions. She also shared details of her plans.
The volume also includes an interview with Dr. Amarendra conducted by Nitish Raj, Editor-in-Chief of The Literary Mirror. The interview received considerable appreciation during the discussion for its insights into Dr. Amarendra’s literary personality and thought.
The programme also featured a devotional song presented by Archana Jha. Manjubala Thakur, former Head of the Department of Psychology, praised Dr. Amarendra’s literary achievements.
The event brought together writers, academics, journalists, artists and literature enthusiasts, creating a meaningful dialogue on Angika literature, literary criticism and the preservation of regional cultural traditions. The vote of thanks was delivered by Jyoti Jha. The literary gathering thus became not merely a book-launch event, but a celebration of the continuing vitality of Angika and Hindi literature and the enduring role of literature in shaping cultural memory and social consciousness.
