Summer Love: Warm Weather and Escapism

“All we need is the truth in our hands.

Someone to call a friend.

Never fear the darkness.

All we need is just the sun in the sky.

And the hope of a summer to come with the meaning of love.”

With the sun constantly shining bright, ever-stretching days, and a vacation vibe on the high, summer has its mood contrary to the snuggly winters and vibrant spring. A renewed hope and restored sense of happiness make it fairly easy to fall in love in the summers! Whether it is a fun-packed fling or an old-fashioned romance, when you meet someone special during summer, it is a better feeling than falling in love during any other season.

The ‘summer love’ is most certainly believed to feel different and special. But is it so, and why? Is Summer love even real?

When you meet someone in the shining summer season and you feel the heartstrings tugging, butterflies fluttering, and a sensation of love, only in reality you are not actually in love but just having the feeling of being in love! This fleeting summery love is just like the season, seems long but gone too soon. However short-lived it may be, the ethereal feeling is very much existent. And that’s called ‘Summer Love’.

As though the summer heat appears to be warming up your love life, when it comes to romance, the season seems opportune for a casual fling or the sure thing! The dance of the brilliant sunrays opens up the radiance through hot aromatic air and the exuberance of music, art, and love is infused in the atmosphere. A perfect time to let the heart tune in with the ebullience of nature all around.

The summer season calls for reunions, invitations, functions, parties, barbecues, and bonfires. Ample opportunities to mingle with more people, combined with the weather ambiance, seem ideal for making sparks fly. Keeping each other on the tenterhooks, the short-term attractions feel more intense where anticipations are sky-high. A relaxed vacation mood and summer mindset keeps the usual day-to-day life pressures at bay and there is a sense of freedom to become spontaneous.

Warm weather and ample sunlight boost the mood and energy levels for outdoor fun, healthier food, and styling choices, which make one comfortable in their skin. The confidence is on an upsurge and all the more reason to feel attractive and gets attracted. Being in the moment and enjoying every bit of it, without the commitments of the future makes it even more enticing. Whether the relationships last or not, keeping the sweet summer memories forever seems intriguing.

Despite the carefree approach this so-called ‘summer love’ portrays, there are valuable learnings from this experience. It is perfectly fine to be looking up to a special someone and wanting to hook up. It is ok to rekindle an old flame and get to know each other all over again, and at the same time, it is also perfectly fine if a past romance fizzles out. If the love interest doesn’t turn out to be ‘the one, the world doesn’t need to end. Although you need to keep your toes planted strongly in the sands of time, a momentary and harmless state of being swept off your feet is ok.

The initial similarity that both fling and long-term relationships reflect, there is no set rule about which one would head towards glory and which is meant for just a good time! So never give away a chance to build something stronger and indulge in a serious relationship just because you have a blithe mode on.

How much ever the easy breezy days make the feelings carefree and free of attachment, the season lurking you to let your guard down and allow romance to take center stage, the charm of emotional satisfaction, commitment, perseverance, and stability is unparallel. The adventure, thrill, and distractions may be momentarily alluring but the senseless floating around is nowhere compared to the deeply-rooted and forever-prospering assurance!
