Rrashima Swaarup Verma is a senior corporate analyst, popular columnist, award-winning speaker, and the author of three bestselling books. Rrashima is represented by The Book Bakers literary agency. Her debut work; A Break In Love, is a contemporary romance that hit the bestseller charts within weeks of its release. Her second book, The Royal Scandal, is a historical non-fiction account of a story from 18th-century India. The book has been widely featured in the media, is critically acclaimed, and won the PVLF Award for the Best Non-Fiction Book of the Year, 2024 at the World Book Fair.
Rrashima’s third book has recently been released. Titled Sleep, Support and Sanity, the book is a witty and warm account of modern-day parenting and has been endorsed by noted personalities from the fields of children’s health and education. Drawing from her own experiences and those around her, Rrashima has deftly dealt with the ups and downs that all parents go through. From a new mom’s struggles to get enough sleep, to building a support system that works, to bringing up pre-teens in a tech-savvy, social media-driven world, the book seamlessly takes its readers through the multiple stages of parenting. It talks about how to maintain a work-life balance, how to deal with unrealistic expectations around motherhood, how to bust the supermom myth, the role of a father, and plenty more. Filled with hilarious anecdotes and incredible experiences that every parent will instantaneously connect with, the book is a treasure trove of information, tips, and solutions for every harried parent out there.
Rrashima has just completed her fourth book, a true tale from India’s rich history. The book centers around love, war, politics, and intrigue from 16th-century India and has involved intense research. It has been endorsed by noted historians, scholars, and authors.
In-depth research and a passion for telling a riveting story are the two factors that drive Rrashima the most. She also firmly believes that every author needs inspiration, a guiding force. ‘Suhail Mathur, my literary agent is my guiding force, my mentor, and the one who constantly encourages me to reach my full potential,’ she says. ‘I am deeply grateful to him for everything that he does for me.’
While writing is her passion (she’s been writing since the age of seven!), Rrashima also enjoys participating in literary festivals, events, workshops, and book launches. She has moderated several prestigious literary sessions and has recently also collaborated with The Book Bakers on a wonderful new literary podcast called “The Book Bakers present T20s with Rrashima”. The podcast airs on The Book Bakers Instagram page every Sunday at 12 noon.
A woman driven by passion, and a perfectionist to the core, Rrashima believes that writing is oxygen to her. ‘I simply cannot live without it,’ she says emphatically. ‘I can think of innumerable situations where writing has been my savior, my outlet, my sanity. From writing about relationships, to social causes that I believe in, to making a change, writing is my means to express myself. I enjoy sipping a cup of black coffee and nibbling on a biscotti while I write at my desk.’
Rrashima also likes to keep herself connected to her readers. ‘I always encourage my readers to reach out to me since I love to hear from them. After all, I write because they read!’ She is available on Facebook and Instagram where readers can communicate directly with her. Alternatively, they can also leave her a message on her website www.rrashimaswaarupverma.com.
Other than writing, if there’s one more thing Rrashima is extremely passionate about, it is traveling with her family. She loves traveling around the world and experiencing new cultures. She feels her travels have been a tremendously enriching learning experience and she is constantly on the lookout to add new and fascinating places to her ever-growing bucket list. As a matter of fact, it is Argentina that is next on her list. She wants to visit the country for its music, food, and architecture.
Before signing off she would like to extend a huge thank you to all the people who have played a role in shaping this wonderful literary journey. First and foremost is her literary agent Suhail Mathur of The Book Bakers Literary Agency for all the guidance and encouragement. She would also like to express her gratitude to her publishers Vishwakarma Publications, Srishti Publishers and Distributors, and Om Books International for their support and faith.
Rrashima’s next book is due for release around the end of the year. She thanks her readers for their support and urges them to read this true tale of love, war, and intrigue since it is an important chapter in our history.
