Bharath Shenoy: An Analyst-turned-Author with a Penchant for Music

Bharath Shenoy is a Bangalore-based professional, born and brought up in Katpadi, Udupi. He did his Mechanical Engineering from MCE Hassan and later went on to do his PGDM-IB from IFIM B School, Bangalore. Mr. Shenoy has a corporate experience of over a decade and currently works as an analyst in a leading Market Research firm. He has handled market research for multiple countries including India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, and has authored several industry reports on technology.

Outside the regular corporate life, Bharath loves singing, photography, and writing scripts for short films and ads. He along with his wife Divya, who is also connected to the media and entertainment industry, and his team, have directed multiple short films. Their short film “Anubhooti” was nominated as one of the top shorts by the ‘Best of India Short Film Festival’ by Shorts TV in 2018. His clicks on the designer collection “Fantasies of Geisha” were covered in major media houses which include Lifestyle and Deccan Herald. Bharath and his wife Divya are aspiring movie directors and this book “Story Behind the Notes” is hopefully the first baby step towards their dream.

Till 2020, Bharath was content spending his free time writing short stories for fun, dabbling in short film projects, and sharing his love of music with his wife, Divya. When the pandemic hit, he saw the opportunity to try something new and decided to take on the challenge of writing a book. It took more than 10 months to get the final draft done and one more month to edit.

Bharath’s novel, Story Behind the Notes, became available on Amazon and Kindle on June 1, 2021. It has had a “Bestseller” tag in the Music Book category. The book is a fiction drama revolving around 2 friends and their quest to find an ex-reality show singer. The story emphasizes dreams and commitment toward the dreams of the lead character. It also highlights friendship, and the positivity genuine friendship brings to a person’s life.

The book’s publisher, Clever Fox Publishing, created a video trailer for the book, and that was the kick-off to a virtual book launch on YouTube. COVID came with its share of pros and cons. While the physical launch would have been a dream come true, the virtual launch facilitated a bigger audience from diverse geographies. The book launch witnessed some notable personalities from the music, media, and entertainment industries, including one of the top music directors in Bangalore, Charan Raj, a bestselling author Tanmay Dubey, and a former Mrs. India Mrs. Tripti Rao.

Bharath is now hard at work on his second novel, a travel adventure fiction that he plans to launch this year.
