Respecting women is an integral part of any cultured society and recognizing them for their tremendous efforts to make society a better place is always welcomed. And what could be better than recognizing women on the eve of International Women’s Day. This year witnessed a gala event organized by the Savitribai Phule Saikshnik Foundation in Pune in memory of the noted social reformer; Savitribai Phule where eight women were awarded the Savitribai National Award for their humongous work in uplifting the society.
The event was adorned by the esteemed presence of acclaimed novelist; Jyoti Jha as a Chief Guest. Jyoti Jha who has been a prolific speaker talked about the various atrocities faced by women which prompts them to commit suicide which was eventually the theme of the event. After being felicitated, Jyoti Jha was offered a shawl and a plaque in the mark of honor of receiving the Savitribai Phule National Award.
An HR-turned-Author, Jyoti Jha is an MBA by qualification and has been associated with corporates like Infosys and Whirlpool in the past. After almost a decade of globe-trotting, she pursued her compelling passion of expressing through words and embarked upon the journey of exploring the field of literature.
An esteemed winner of ‘The Times of India Write India Season 3’, she has authored the books, ‘The Realms of Human Emotions’, ‘Around The World Through My Lens’, and ‘Aanandi’. A Literary Critic, Columnist, and Lyricist, she has been a proud panelist and Guest Speaker in Talk Shows at prestigious institutions like IIM Lucknow, IIT Delhi, IIT Jammu, and Christ College. Having been interviewed and featured at one of the Top Literary Journals of the country, Jyoti has been an honorable Jury Member at The Literary Club, IIT BHU for Storytelling. She has been an esteemed guest speaker at a unique Talk Show ‘The Lit Talks’ on a reputable OTT Platform. Her debut Hindi novel ‘Aanandi’ has been featured at the Pune International Literary Festival (PILF) 2021.
Jyoti Jha had made rapid strides in the field of literature in a very short time. Starting her literary career from a travelogue, ‘Around The World Through My Lens’, she ventured into the short-story collection and came up with ‘Realms of Human Emotions’. Even after residing in USA and UK for almost a decade; her debut in Hindi literature has been quite phenomenal. Her debut novel ‘Aanandi’ not just touches the various myriads of emotions of a woman but also keeps itself aloof from the fantasy of so-called sophisticated societies and tried to depict the stark reality of the women in our country.
The event which started with a welcoming note from Hemlata Mashke; an independent journalist was hosted by the senior journalist Latant Prasun.
